Bontrager's AW1 Hard-Case Tire is a great choice for riders who value flat protection, all-weather traction, and high-mileage durability. Its sub-tread puncture barrier keeps you rolling so you can concentrate on putting in the miles, and the bead-to-bead barrier protects you from sidewall cuts. This tire also sports a siped tread pattern for improved traction in wet or messy conditions.

Comments:
Replaced my Gatorskin rear 700x23 with this one in 700x25 on Mechanic's advice and the bike no longer feels nimble. Topped off pressure this morning just to be sure it wasn't low pressure, and it feels like I'm riding in mud. Don't know if it is the size or the tire, but it's going back to the Gatorskin tomorrow.

came as original equipment on my Trek 520 Average over 150 miles per week riding back & forth to work and with weekend rides these tires are awesome. when it did come time to replace my original tires I did try some other brand on recommendations from others, but quickly noticed the wet traction just wasn't the same. I'm now riding on the AW1 again and feeling confident again.

Comments:
700x32's came as original equipment on my Trek 520. I couldn't ask for a better tire. Between commuting, training and errands I ride 150+ miles a week on gravel roads & trails, back roads, city streets and shoulders of highways. Covering the same routes which on my old tires resulted in on average 1 flat a week, with 3 months of use, no flats on these. In addition to the flat protection, cornering and wet traction give you confidence to push the envelope. Statred out with 60psi and am now up to 95psi without any marked degradation of either parameter.

Comments:
Just put a pair of these on today to replace the stock R2's that came with my Domane 4.5. The R2 is a good tire that I put 1100+ miles on but the trade-off to an easy roll is the durability. The two flats I did get on the R2s were from pretty minor debris and I wanted to have more confidence with a tire that is more durable. The short ride I took today with the A1s already validated my purchase - they feel much better rolling over rough asphalt littered with post-winter gravel.
